Our Beliefs...
Our beliefs shape, influence and define the things that are important to us. Our beliefs are rooted and based on Scripture. Our beliefs do not change, but our methods of communicating them and inspiring people to live by them will change as needed.
What We Believe
At the core of our beliefs, we must always live by these great words from scripture:
In matters of faith we have unity - Ephesians 4:4-6, Romans 15:5
In matters of opinion we have liberty - Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22
In all matters love - 1 John 4:7, I Corinthians 13:2 & 13.
As we strive for unity in issues of faith, liberty when it comes to opinion, and love in all matters, God will be lifted up and His church will prevail!
Our Core Biblical Beliefs
God - We believe there is one God; who is the creator of all things, unchanging, perfect in holiness, wisdom, and love. He exists forever as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Acts 17:24-30, Hebrews 11:3, James 1:17).
Jesus Christ - We believe in Jesus Christ God's one and only son. We believe he was born of a virgin, both fully human and fully divine. We believe he lived a sinless life suffering and dying on a Roman cross. He was the perfect sacrifice for our sin-filled lives. We believe He rose bodily from the dead on the third day and will return to earth one day to judge both the living and the dead (1 John 4:9, Luke 1:26-38, Luke 23:1-46, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, Acts 10:39-42).
Holy Spirit - We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is active in both the world and Christians today. We believe he convicts the world of sin and their need for forgiveness in Christ. We believe He comes to live in those who accept Jesus as their Savior. He guides, instructs, and empowers the Christ follower in spiritual growth, daily living, and service to Jesus Christ (John 16:5-15, Acts 2:38, Romans 8:26-27).
Bible - We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testament to be the inspired word of God, and without error. The scriptures are the final authority for all matters of Christian faith and practice (1 Corinthians 2:12-13, 2 Timothy 3:14-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
Humanity - We believe all people were created uniquely by God in His image to have a relationship with Him. We believe man and woman have separated themselves from their relationship with God by sinning against Him. They can renew this relationship by accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior (Genesis 1:27, Acts 4:12, Romans 3:23 and 6:23).
Salvation - We believe that salvation - the forgiveness of sins and eternal life - can belong to all who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This is a free gift of grace through Christ shed blood given when one is ready to repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized (by immersion) into Him (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 3:26-28, Romans 6:1-7, Colossians 2:6, Acts 2:38).
Lords Supper - We believe The Lord's Supper is a very special time in a believer's Life and a vital part of our service. We observe The Lord's Supper (Communion) each Sunday. We do this each Sunday to follow the example of The Early Church in the book of Acts. The emblems are passed to all and each person makes a personal decision whether or not they want to participate. We are led in a devotion by someone and we all partake in unison as one body.
Church - The Church is the Body & Bride of Christ, founded on the day of Pentecost, consisting of all Christians everywhere. Matthew 16:13–18; Acts 2:14–47 Having many members but one Head. Each member has gifts in which they can help the body function more efficiently. These members are perfect yet their faith and trust is in the perfect one. we never claim to be the only Christians but Christians only. 1 Peter 5:1-4, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, Matthew 28:18-20).
